I am exhausted! But I had a ton of fun tonight!
So my night begins when Kurt and I are in Alex's pod with Kevin helping them get ready because their going dancing at the Lethbridge Big Band performance. Alex wants me to go as well but I needed a date as it was ballroom dancing all night, somehow we managed to convince Kurt into going too so we then had 5 minutes to get ready before the taxi arrived to pick us up. (I haven't shaved or anything, it was bad!) But we make it, and we look good (if I do say so myself)
So we all go dancing! It was amazing! Waltzing and other assorted ballroom dances all to a live band! Wow! We danced until the very last song (I have the blisters to prove it) but it was one of the greatest nights I've had here! So magical!
Hey everybody!
It has been three years since I was a brand new student, fresh out of high school. I'm currently in my fourth year. I started this blog in an attempt to keep my family, friends and any prospective students up to date with my life at the University of Lethbridge. I'm continuing with it this year as it worked well. Thanks for reading!

So today was soooo much fun!!!
My sorority little sister, Mackenzie, invited me to a "party" she was having at her place. Unbeknownst to me, all her friends are Mormon so their idea of a party is completely different than what I thought it would be. We watched American Idol then ended up at the temple playing dodgeball in the gym until 1 a.m! After that, I gave her and a few of her friends a tour of residence in UHall and I showed them all the creepy places in the Fine Art building, including all the ghost stories! It was a ton of fun and I'm really glad I got to meet them!

Sorry this took so long to get up.
Tonight, Kevin Jackson and I performed at Open Mic Night in the Zoo, and it didn't go over so well. In fact, I'm not sure if I want to perform there ever again.
In our set list, Kevin & I were going to play "Imagine" by John Lennon, "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen, and "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas. I was super excited and invited everyone I could to come watch. Cody and Veronica on the floor rent out video camera's to record our performance for the year end video even! The Zoo had also hired a band for that night to close the show after the performers. And this is the beginning of my disappointment.
Kevin and I were supposed to perform at 6:45. At 7:20, we finally get onstage, only to have the amp not work for Kevin's guitar. We have to use one of the two mics for it now, which means that all the harmonies we worked on were for nothing as I'm the only one with a vocal mic. Then we start performing, and people are talking over us! I was not happy at all. Also, the sound system wasn't turned up correctly, so they really couldn't hear what we were doing anyways. After we perform Imagine, the "host" comes up to us and tells us that we're getting cut short because the "band was getting angry and wanted to start performing already"! Seriously! Open mic night is for the students! Not for some stupid band that you hired! They couldn't wait the extra 5 minutes it would've taken to let us finish all three songs. We were told we had time for one more, so we did Little Wonders. Then we were essentially kicked off the stage. Neither Kevin nor I are happy about this because it also messes up what he's performing with Max on our floor as well.
I don't even wait for the band, which upsets some of the people I'm with. But in my eyes, if their not willing to let us finish what we've been working on for months, they don't deserve my attention. Why should I respect people who are that selfish. So I leave, and Kevin, Veronica, and Cody come with me. We perform out set for the floor then, to make up for the Zoo and that performance goes off without a hitch! (The only upside to that night). And I promise, as soon as Cody's finished editing the footage, I'll post it here for you all so see!
As promised...
